The ZONTA Club of Ballarat Inc. was sponsored by the Zonta Club of Melbourne and organised by Elizabeth Lucas, OAM. It was chartered in 1978 on United Nations Day October 24, a date considered propitious given Zonta's consultative status with the United Nations and representation at UN sites in New York, Paris, Geneva and Vienna.
